A rare, authentic, 18th-century Italian Rococo carved giltwood mirror with original red bole and water-gilded finish. The pierced frame features exuberant acanthus scrolls, shell motifs, and lattice-textured detailing, all displaying the movement and vitality characteristic of Venetian work. The backside shows it was constructed with pegged mortise-and-tenon joinery and hand-planed backboards, this mirror retains a beautiful aged patina and likely even its original mirror plate.
