Consignment Furniture in Vancouver

Consignment

Although most of our inventory is hand-selected and imported from Europe, The Antique Warehouse also accepts select quality antique and vintage furniture on consignment in Vancouver. Consigning your furniture is an excellent way to sell pieces you no longer need while ensuring they are presented professionally to a large audience of serious buyers, collectors, and interior designers.

We carefully curate what we accept to ensure the best possible experience for both our customers and consignors.

HOW TO CONSIGN ITEMS

The best place to start is always by sending us an e-mail. Without being able to look at your item(s), our staff won’t be able to discuss your items over the phone.

If you would like to consign furniture with us,  please email clear photos of your item(s) to: [email protected]

Please also include:

  • Dimensions (approximate measurements are fine)
  • Condition details (scratches, veneer issues, loose joints, etc.)
  • Any maker’s marks or signatures
  • Known provenance or history if available (where/when did you acquire the items, etc).

We receive numerous consignment submissions for our consideration daily. While we do our best to respond in a timely manner, it may take us up to 2 full business days. Once reviewed, we will let you know if the item is suitable for consignment and provide an estimated listing price.

If accepted, please e-mail or call to schedule a delivery time. Items can be delivered off during store hours at:

The Antique Warehouse
226 SW Marine Drive
Vancouver, BC

Please note, we do not offer in-home evaluations, and delivery to and pickup from our showroom is the responsibility of the consignor. We are happy to recommend local delivery companies if needed.

COMMISSION STRUCTURE

Our consignment agreement begins with a 60-day priority sales period. This structure allows us to market new items more aggressively while still providing consignors with a fair share of the sale.

  • If your item sells within the first 60 days:
    60% Antique Warehouse / 40% Consignor

  • After 60 days:
    70% Antique Warehouse / 30% Consignor

PRICING & SALES PROCESS

When an item is accepted for consignment, a listing price is agreed upon based on market demand, condition, and comparable sales.

If an item remains unsold after the initial 60-day period, market conditions may require price adjustments. At that stage, The Antique Warehouse reserves the right to adjust pricing to facilitate a sale.

We are also authorized to negotiate with buyers and accept offers of up to 30% below the listed price when appropriate as part of normal sales activity.

CONDITION, REPAIRS & PREPARATION

All items must arrive in excellent selling condition, meaning clean, structurally sound, and ready for display. If minor repairs or cleaning are required to make an item saleable, this work can be performed by our restoration team at $100 per hour. Repair costs are deducted from the consignor’s proceeds. Repairs exceeding $300 require prior approval unless necessary for safety or structural integrity.

PAYMENT

Consignor payments are issued on the 15th day of the month following the sale.

Example:
If an item sells in January, payment will be issued February 15.
