A large late 19th-century French patinated spelter sculpture by Rancoulec, depicting the allegorical figure “Pax Labor” (Peace Through Work). The figure stands confidently with a blacksmith’s hammer over one shoulder and a sword at his side, symbolizing the dignity of labour, strength, and industry. Beautifully cast with a rich bronze-tone patina and mounted on its original circular base, this is an impressive example of Belle Époque decorative sculpture.
