A rare matched pair of single bedframes from Barcelona, crafted in solid mahogany with intricate brass inlay. The headboards feature arched crests with urn-and-scroll motifs inlaid in brass, flanked by formalized corner detailing. The footboards mirror the design with lower brass arabesques and elegant linear stringing.
The overall form is clean and architectural, softened by fluid organic detailing—a hallmark of Catalonia’s Modernisme era. Joinery is traditional mortise and tenon, with original hardwood side rails and warm, hand-polished patina throughout. c. 1900.
