The tops and sides are laid in herringbone and parquetry, showing the typical colour contrast between the darker rosewood and the warmer orange tones of tulipwood. The front panels are designed as positive/negative pairs: one displays the floral marquetry in lightwood on a rosewood ground, while the other reverses the palette with a darker motif against a lighter field—an intentional effect used to create matched but non-identical pairs.
