Wren is an American, “plein-air” artist. His notes on this piece: “Le Chateau is located in south of Chagny, Burgundy, France; a small hilltop village that overlooks the most picturesque vineyards that I have ever seen. This chateau was complete with a spring vegetable garden, flowers and the view! There’s a great little pastry shop around the corner…. What a place to paint!”
This piece was acquired by the consignor in 2003 from West Coast Gallery, in Whistler, B.C.
