A late-19th century French carved walnut Louis XV style breakfront ‘bureau plat’ or writing desk. Fitted with five drawers to the frieze and with newly-installed gilt tooled leather surfaces to the top and two pull-outs on each side. Carved and paneled all ’round; finished nicely on the back. Standing on elegant serpentine shaped carved cabriole legs with scrolled feet. C. 1890.
