Striking mantle clock with flanking urn form garnitures. The movement consists of a gilt brass bezel and central disc, and a porcelain enamel chapter. Fitted in a black marble case with a stepped base and arcaded top. The front is decorated with detailed etchings and sections of inlaid, highly-veined stone. Hinged glazed door over dial and a brass door over the rear of the movement. Single hammer striking on coiled gong, producing a classic mantle chime. Working, but has not been recently professionally serviced.
Made in France, c 1880.
