A very handsome, flamed Mahogany, 19th Century, Empire style bookcase from France. A simple cornice with an ormolu bronze palmette in the center is supported by turned solid mahogany columns that showcase engraved brass capitals and bases flanking two glazed doors with matching ormolu escutcheons. The interior houses four adjustable shelves on traditional “saw tooth” supports, and bullet-shaped feet raise the whole.
