This large solid bronze sculpture, titled “Le Grand Jockey,” depicts a jockey on horse back looking off to his side.

Information on the sculptor:
Isidore Bonheur (1827-1901)
A French artist, Bonheur began studying painting with his father before eventually attending the Ecole des Beaux Arts, abandoning a promising future as a painter by 1848 to pursue sculpting. Isidore was was given the Legion d’ Honneur in 1895, and won gold medals at the Paris Salon and the Exposition Universelle in 1889.
