This antique cast iron bed frame dates to the late Victorian to Edwardian period, circa 1890–1910, and features a nickel-plated finish. The design includes arched headboard and footboard rails, slender vertical rods, and cast decorative feet consistent with iron beds of this era. At some point in the mid-20th century, the side rails were intentionally cut and lengthened to accommodate a longer mattress. As a result, the frame measures approximately queen length while retaining a narrower, double-width profile. A standard mattress will not fit precisely; however, one may choose to use a queen mattress, as the length permits it, provided it rests on a box spring or platform for support and the slight overhang on either side is acceptable.
