A mid-19th century oil on canvas portrait depicting a seated gentleman, identified on the frame plaque as “Rev. J.C. Green.” Painted in a restrained academic style with soft modeling and a dark tonal background, typical of mid-19th century portraiture. Presented in a carved and giltwood frame with Rococo Revival detailing. Visible craquelure consistent with age.
