A pair of Louis XV style giltwood side chairs featuring shaped frames with carved foliate and scroll detailing throughout. The serpentine crest rails and cabriole legs reflect the characteristic asymmetry of the Rococo revival style, while the pierced splats add visual lightness. Both chairs retain their original hand-woven cane seats and backs, framed within molded rails. The gilt finish shows natural wear consistent with age, revealing underlying red bole in areas and contributing to an authentic patina.
