Late 18th early 19th Century painted pine coffer trunk, likely Continental European, featuring beautifully hand-painted folk art decoration throughout. The facade is adorned with traditional floral urn motifs flanking a central laurel wreath cartouche with gilded script and dated “1822,” giving the piece wonderful character and authenticity. Constructed in solid pine with forged iron hinges and carrying handles, this charming blanket chest retains its original rustic surface and rich patina acquired over two centuries of use.
