A set of four French wrought iron dining chairs in the Directoire style. Each chair features a curved back with an X-form splat centered by a hammered roundel, a design derived from the restrained neoclassical forms popular during the Directoire period. The slender iron uprights terminate in small finials, while the seats are formed with a square lattice iron base designed to support removable cushions.
The frames are reinforced with cross stretchers joined by a central decorative boss, providing stability while maintaining the light, open appearance typical of French iron furniture. Finished in a dark painted surface and accompanied by loose upholstered seat cushions.
