An antique French Empire mahogany dressing mirror dating to the early 19th century, constructed with a rectangular tilting mirror supported by upright posts on a stepped base. The frame is decorated with gilt bronze laurel leaf borders, rosettes, and paw feet, reflecting the restrained neoclassical design language of the Empire period. The mirror adjusts via side-mounted knobs and retains its traditional silk-backed rear panel. This form, known in France as a psyché, was commonly used as a dressing or tabletop mirror during the Napoleonic era.
