An eye-catching floor torchiere combining a carved and giltwood Blackamoor figure with an elaborate hand-blown Murano glass light. The figure is carved from hardwood, stained a deep reddish-brown, and highlighted with parcel-gilt drapery and shoes. It stands on an ornate, scrolling pedestal base finished in matching gilding and lacquer, typical of Venetian decorative work from the late 19th to early 20th century.
The glass portion is entirely hand-blown Murano, distinguished by its opaline blue body, pink applied ornament, clear ribbed arms, and leaf-form decorations. The bobeches and shades show controlled bubble inclusions and delicate applied rosettes—hallmarks of traditional Murano craftsmanship.
