This elegant mahogany Empire style chest of drawers was handcrafted in France, circa 1870. The traditional commode adorns a rich patina and sits on round columnar feet over a straight bottom plinth, embellished on both sides by carved round columns with decorative carved rings at the neck and base. The cabinet features three drawers across the front with the original bronze pulls and key holes escutcheons, and a fourth additional drawer under the marble top. The surface is dressed with the original black marble top.
This can simply be used in an entry, bedroom or living room, or it could make an impressive powder room vanity with the addition of a sink.
