A finely crafted French Louis XV transitional style commode, dating to circa 1920, and constructed from mahogany and richly decorated with exotic wood inlays. The drawer fronts and side panels feature chevron and diamond-matched marquetry in kingwood and tulipwood, bordered by crossbanding and delicate boxwood stringing. Three drawers are fitted with circular brass pulls and gilt-bronze escutcheons in classical motifs. The shaped apron is adorned with an ormolu mount, and the whole rests on gently tapered legs. A red and white veined marble top crowns the piece.
