An 18th century, period Louis XV Secretaire in exquisite Rosewood and burl walnut with a grey veined marble top. The fall-front features an inlaid marquetry design in various exotic fruitwoods of a bouquet of flowers tied with a ribbon; this door opens to reveal a leather inset writing surface and four short drawers under three storage spaces, above a pair of cupboard doors enclosing a shelf and unique removable “strong box”, supported on cabriole legs. Purchased in Paris. Circa 1770.
