A handsome, mid 19th century (1850-1870) Dutch oak buffet hutch/display cabinet. The upper vitrine features individually framed beveled glass panes, canted glazed sides, and a graceful bonnet cornice crowned by a finely hand-carved floral crest. The lower cabinet is enriched with carved oak panels, decorative brass hardware, and beautifully executed relief carving throughout. Constructed using mortise and tenon joinery secured with wooden pegs rather than modern screws or nails, it remains remarkably solid after more than 150 years – a testament to the enduring quality of its construction.
