A finely crafted Louis XV style marquetry vanity table, circa 1860. The serpentine top is richly inlaid with floral marquetry in contrasting woods, framed by an ornate gilt-bronze ormolu gallery with foliate motifs. Cabriole legs with gilt-bronze sabots provide a graceful profile. The top lifts to reveal a fitted mahogany-lined interior and a mirror framed in chased gilt-bronze. The table is fitted with two drawers: a standard drawer with a brass escutcheon, and a discreetly concealed secondary drawer built into the lower apron — a feature typical of higher-quality Parisian work.
