This substantial French trumeau mirror features a hand-painted pastoral scene set within a carved and painted wood surround. The frame is decorated with floral swags, ribbon motifs, and classical detailing, typical of late 19th-century French decorative mirrors designed for salons and grand reception rooms. Finished in a soft, time-worn cream with subtle patina, the mirror retains strong architectural presence while remaining visually light. Measuring approximately 7 feet in height, it was originally intended to be installed floor-standing beneath a cornice or between wall panels, where it would reflect light and visually expand the room. Early 20th century, possibly late 19th (1890-1910).
