A handsome late 18th-century French commode in the Louis XVI taste, richly veneered with geometric marquetry and contrasting banding. The five drawers retain elegant circular brass pulls and decorative escutcheons, while the rounded uprights are accented with brass fluting. The subtly projecting central section creates a restrained breakfront profile, and it’s finished with a shaped grey marble top. Circa 1770-1790.
