Impressive French provincial oak armoire dating to the late 18th or early 19th century, standing just under 8-feet tall. The substantial two-door case features beautifully shaped moulded panels, a deep projecting cornice, long iron hinges, and its original iron locking mechanism and escutcheons. Two lower drawers provide additional storage beneath the main cabinet.  The interior has been thoughtfully fitted with three sturdy newer shelves, making it highly practical for linens, clothing, media or general storage. With its generous depth, the interior could also be readily adapted with a hanging rail for use as a wardrobe.

The warm oak surface retains excellent age, patina, wear and construction irregularities, giving the piece the presence and authenticity expected of genuine French provincial furniture from around 1800. A handsome architectural piece with exceptional storage capacity.
