A Louis-Philippe period mahogany bibliothèque, France, circa 1840–1860, with two tall glazed doors opening to adjustable interior shelving. Constructed from richly figured mahogany with bookmatched panels, the cabinet features simple geometric lines typical of the period, including chamfered corners with inlaid fillets and a moulded cornice. Brass shield escutcheons and an original working key complete the façade. The interior is pine, consistent with French cabinetmaking practices of the mid-19th century. The piece offers substantial storage and presents well with its clear, linear proportions and warm mahogany surface
