A refined Empire style “lit en bateau” daybed, dating to the early-mid 19th century and crafted in France from solid mahogany. This elegant piece features bold, architectural lines typical of the Empire period, with cylindrical end posts capped in gilt bronze (ormolu) wreaths and decorative bands. The footboard’s curved shape is embellished with a gilt floral motif in cast bronze. Minor losses and wear consistent with age. Support slats can be fabricated upon request.
