A mid-20th century Bell & Howell “Filmo” 16mm motion picture projector, Design 57 Model U, manufactured in Chicago, Illinois. Constructed of heavy cast metal with a textured brown enamel finish and polished steel fittings, this machine exemplifies the robust engineering that made Bell & Howell a dominant name in educational and industrial film projection. The projector features forward and reverse operation, manual threading, and precision lens adjustment.

The identification plate lists multiple U.S. patent numbers dating between the 1920s and 1950s, placing this example in the late 1950s production range. It is mounted on its original cast-iron base and includes the original fitted leatherette-covered carrying case with handle and clasps, as well as one spare projection bulb. Reels not included.
