A magnificent antique Italian Baroque-style giltwood stool, likely dating to the mid-to-late 19th century, featuring elaborate hand-carved decoration and rich red velvet upholstery. The sculptural wooden frame is beautifully ornamented with sweeping acanthus leaves, bold C-scrolls, and gracefully curved legs joined by decorative stretchers. Its generously cushioned seat is upholstered in deep red velvet, finished with woven gold-toned trim. The original gilded finish displays a beautifully aged patina, with characteristic wear and evidence of previous repairs that contribute to its authentic antique charm. A striking and exceptionally decorative piece, ideal as an occasional seat, bedroom accent, or statement piece in a traditional or contemporary interior.
