A handsome early 20th-century Canadian tall-case clock by Geo. J. Lippert Table Co. Ltd. of Kitchener, Ontario, housed in a richly finished revival-style case with swan-neck crest, fluted columns, pierced scrollwork and a glazed pendulum door. The clock retains its decorative brass-and-silvered dial with moon/nautical automaton arch and a German W&H Sch. movement (Winterhalder & Hofmeier), a respected maker of quality mechanical clock movements. Unless set to silent, it chimes each quarter-hour and sounds the complete chime sequence on the hour. Currently working and keeping time well.
At six feet tall, it is a more practical scale: plenty of presence, without demanding an entire bedroom of its own to house it.
