The “Model 4268” – An elegant Danish linen cabinet in a light mahogany, designed in 1931 by Kaare Klint for Rud. Rasmussen, Copenhagen, Two panelled doors reveal five sliding trays, complemented by two pull-out slides and three lower drawers with brass handles. Beautifully figured wood, restrained mouldings and an open stretcher base give this substantial cabinet a light, balanced presence – a design style that Scandinavian furniture makers began to be known for 15 years later when the mid-century modern movement began. Warm patina and visible wear reflect its age and use.
