A handsome English mahogany chest of drawers dating to the early 19th century, circa 1820-1840. The rectangular top sits above two short and three graduated long drawers, displaying particularly attractive figured mahogany grain. Each drawer retains simple turned wooden pulls and decorative brass keyhole escutcheons. The case is framed by reeded vertical pilasters and raised on distinctive shaped bracket feet with restrained scroll detailing. Traditional dovetailed drawer construction and a warm, well-developed patina give the chest considerable character while retaining a clean, architectural appearance.

A practical and beautifully proportioned Georgian-period chest offering generous storage and a particularly rich mahogany surface.
