This impressive early 19th-century French country harvest table is a wonderful example of honest farmhouse craftsmanship. Constructed from solid pine, the table features a substantial plank top with hand-turned legs, a stretcher base, and a working drawer and breadboard at each end. The table comfortably seats eight to ten people while retaining the warmth and character that only generations of use can create. The surface displays a beautifully aged patina with natural wear, shrinkage, old marks, and variations in colour that speak to its long history and practical origins.
The underside reveals traditional construction methods and hand-worked timber. Circa 1830–1860.
