The iconic Metafora coffee table, designed by Massimo and Lella Vignelli in Italy in 1979. One of the most recognizable designs of the Postmodern era, the table features a thick circular glass top supported by four independent forms: a sphere, cube, cylinder, and pyramid. Each element can be positioned individually, allowing the owner to create different sculptural arrangements beneath the glass. Crafted from natural travertine with beautiful fossilization, veining, and colour variation throughout, the design balances substantial stone forms with the lightness of the floating glass top.
Equally at home in contemporary, minimalist, modern organic, and designer interiors – a statement piece that functions as both furniture and sculpture.
