An Austrian, hand-forged and hand-hammered metal plant stand from the “Jugendstil” period (the Central European answer to Art Nouveau), circa 1890-1900. The textured surfaces highlight traditional blacksmithing techniques, while the overall design bridges organic Art Nouveau and the more linear Secessionist aesthetic of turn-of-the-century Vienna. A rare piece in exceptional condition.
