An impressive French Louis XIV style antique oak armoire from the mid-18th century (c. 1750–1780). This wardrobe displays a warm patina developed over nearly 250 years, mortise-and-tenon joinery, original long iron hinges and shaped brass escutcheon, hand-carved doors with raised oval medallions framed by scrollwork, a shaped apron, and cabriole legs with scrolled feet — all hand-finished with subtle irregularities characteristic of 18th-century craftsmanship.
The spacious interior, now open, can be fitted with shelving, a hanging rod, or both, making it as practical today as it was nearly 250 years ago. A true statement piece, this antique wardrobe brings timeless French presence to any interior.
As with all pieces we sell, restoration, refinishing, or custom modifications can be carried out by our experienced restorers and cabinetmakers for an additional charge.
