A French, Renaissance-Revival oak library table, featuring boldly-turned barley twist legs and a long turned stretcher – which is further-decorated with large turned finials. Two panelled drawers fitted to the frieze with two corresponding false drawers to the reverse side. The desk is punctuated with six hand-carved faces – one at each corner and also between the drawers. The gilt-tooled leather surface is framed by a carved oak border edge. Circa 1880.
