This lovely bench stands on six cabriole legs feet over a set of crossed stretchers at the base; each leg is further decorated with hand carved acanthus leaf seashell motifs at the shoulder. The same motif continues to decorate the apron. The sides the seat has been upholstered with a fine needlepoint depicting a bird carrying a floral branch, and embellished with decorative brass nail heads. The elegant bench is in excellent condition with a rich, deep patina. Place this versatile bench at the foot of a bed, in an entryway, use it for extra seating in a den, or around a breakfast room table.
