Small French coffer from the early-18th century in oak with paneled front and sides. A simple “window seat” lid opens upon original, wrought iron, internal strap hinges that are secured by hand forged “rosehead” nails. The coffer rests on four, strong block feet. Displays a desirable aged patina, graced with deep caramel and chestnut hues beneath the wax polish finish, and in good condition throughout.
