A Mid-19th Century lady’s work or sewing table in black lacquer – profusely decorated with finely painted gilt and red landscape scenery, figures, birds, etc. The piece stands on turned legs, each with outswept legs terminating in ornately carved and gilded paw feet. There is storage under the hinged top which reveals further ornate gilt details to the underside when opened. From the Grande Salon of the Villa la Pausa. Circa 1840.
